Increased Thermal Stability

Dreamweaver's flexible technology platform allows us to choose materials that have high thermal stability and flame retardant characteristics.  Dreamweaver Gold uses para-aramid fibers that is stable at over 500 C, to create the ultimate separator in battery separator thermal stability, with only 2% shrinkage after 1 hour at 290 C.

Greater Efficiency

The smaller nanofibers used in Dreamweavers separators allow a separator with higher porosity, giving the ions more freedom to move quickly without impedance. This means that your electric tools and e-bikes have more power, and that charge times will be faster and more efficient in any application. Reduced Pore Size

Dreamweaver takes normal textile fibers and then fibrillates them to a size far smaller than a micron.  These fibers are then blended to achieve just the right properties, which include a very narrow distribution of pores, allowing the separator to keep the electrodes electrically isolated, while ions flow freely.

High Speed Production

Dreamweaver technology builds on decades of innovative development - development of high speed, high efficiency and high quality wet laid non woven production. This production process is routinely used in high quality technical filters and other applications.  By drawing on this innovation and expertise, Dreamweaver products can be made on existing equipment at rates that far exceed normal battery separator production.

The Difference

Dreamweaver uses a completely new technology that brings with it the possibility to achieve benefits that could never before be realized with the current antiquated platforms.  They now have all the tools available that were developed for nonwovens, and built those into their flexible technology platform. For this reason Dreamweaver is able to tailor their products to deliver what the market needs: safety, power, and cost reduction.

Today Dreamweaver products are bringing a new performance paradigm to lithium ion cells and supercapacitors.  However, the advancements do not end there. Dreamweaver is following a technological roadmap that will provide separators at 10 microns. This separator will provide safety that cannot be delivered by other manufactures using current technology at any thickness. This will be done at a volume and economy that is suitable for automotive, electrical grid and green energy markets, in addition to more traditional applications like computers, cell phones and tablet computers. 

Combine the Dreamweaver separator with the Soteria Current collectors, and you get a much safer cell that costs and weighs less.

For an example of such technology, see the video below; in a test that exceeds the boundaries of normal separator experiments, battery separators were saturated with lithium ion battery electrolyte and lit on fire.  What you see on the left is that traditional separators shrink, deform, catch fire and burn, while the Dreamweaver separators remain dimensionally stable, providing safety and electrical isolation even during a battery thermal event.
